Dr. Juan Guillermo Becerra was born and raised in the El Paso; also known as Juarez borderland. He provides culturally sensitive and bilingual care to patients of all ages across all stages of life. He graduated from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara with a medical degree and then he completed his residency in family medicine at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center of El Paso. He has also pursued advanced training with a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Becerra is an expert with specialization in improving quality of life for patients of all ages with serious illnesses such as cancer, heart failure, COPD, chronic kidney and degenerative diseases. His expertise lies in pain control and symptom management for complex medical cases, principally in oncology. He helps patients manage:

Jessica Porras is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She previously worked in Surgery and as a Hospitalist before joining Medical Services of the Border. Jessica brings her experience and knowledge to assist her patients who are facing acute and chronic health conditions. As a member of The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Jessica continues to study and practices up to date care for her patients with Diabetes, Hypertension, High Cholesterol, and Obesity. Originally from Corpus Christi, Jessica has made El Paso her home for the past 16 years and is dedicated to serving her community.

Dr. Luis Carlos Ortiz, MD, is a board-certified endocrinologist who has expertise in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism as well as internal medicine. He received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, after this he completed his internal medicine residency work at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Patterson, NJ, and finally he pursued an Endocrinology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. A compassionate approach to serve patients at Medical Services of the Border in El Paso has brought him a respected personality with clinical knowledge, his dedication to patient education, and ability to communicate fluently in Spanish and English.
